Regional Conference on Investment and Capital Markets, January 17-19, 2006

The Jamaica Stock Exchange will host a conference aimed at encouraging the exploitation of capital markets and investment opportunities in Jamaica, the wider Caribbean and across the globe.

This event will be held at the Half Moon Conference Centre in St. James, Jamaica from January 17 to 19, 2006 under the theme: Creating investment opportunities for the growth and development of the region's capital markets in a globalised environment.

The Prime Minister of Barbados, The Rt. Hon. Owen Arthur, will be one of the keynote speakers along with the Jamaican Prime Minister, The Rt. Hon. P.J. Patterson; St. Lucian Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Dr. Kenny Anthony; Leader of the opposition in Jamaica, Bruce Golding and Chancellor Emritus of the University of the West Indies, Sir Shridath Ramphal.Discussion will focus on the estblishment of a regional exchange, attracting foreign and institutional investors, making use of regional investment opportunities and the role of CARICOM in advancing the development of the financial sector
